Our Tours
More and more holidaymakers, young and old, are discovering the possibilities of travelling, backpacking or cared for. JSB Advice and Mediation specializes in individual trips. We provide customization that you can expect from us. With this website we hope to inspire and convince you that we set the highest standards in putting together and executing your trip. By this we mean trips that you let us put together according to your wishes. Or if you know which route you want to travel, we will take care of the transport and/or accommodations. You travel with your own travel group and set your own pace.
Of course we advise you if you do not know something sufficiently. This way you are assured of a successful holiday, made with your own group, large or small, or all by yourself. Also, you don’t have to book the hotels one after the other. If you want to travel on your own initiative for a few days and then book the hotels with us again, that is also possible. For example, we do not have any predetermined trips.
You can visit any island. Our tours are private holidays, so you travel with your own company through Indonesia. That means: freedom! You can stop whenever you want, you can take pictures at your leisure or take a walk through a village (kampung) or in nature. You determine the routes yourself in advance, in consultation with us, or you let us arrange the whole thing. You sleep in attractive and special hotels, or if you wish, simple but clean. A private tour from us will offer you a VERY different view of Indonesia.
We can adapt the trips to your wishes. If you want to be assured of a successful holiday, we will help you with this. We don’t promise anything we can’t deliver. Let us surprise you with what we can do for you. It is not possible to see all of Indonesia during one tour of 3 to 4 weeks. You will have to make choices, or decide to go back after your trip. Most travelers choose the latter option because they are captivated by the country and its inhabitants.
We recommend that you take at least three weeks to go to Indonesia. This is sufficient, for example, to do Java-Bali, Java-Sulawesi or Sumatra-Java, if you want to come home rested.

In short, the highlights of the area
Java has compared to Sumatra and Bali more flat areas. This means that you can look further in many places. This gives sawahs and mountains a different face than on Sumatra and Bali. But every island has its own beauty and nature. For example, there are many forests on Sumatra that you will drive through for the most part to travel from one place to another. In the north there is another reserve where orangutans are fed, an hour’s drive from Medan. You will also find the Minangkabauers who still live together in their typical homes.
There is also the beautiful Toba Lake with an island in the middle where you can spend the night. A little further south there is another beautiful island of Sobolga that lies in the sea. It is worth staying here for a few nights. Beautiful white beaches. For those looking for even more nostalgia, you can check out the island of Nias. There are few tourists, and people still live there in the traditional way. You should take into account that a visit to Sumatra is accompanied by long car journeys, because the distances there are much greater than e.g. Java and Bali. Java is inhabited by the largest part of the population, about 150 million people. There is a lot to see here from the colonial era, both from the Dutch and English and Portuguese periods. Jakarta is a modern city, where you should not stay too long. It is better to travel to Bogor and visit Jakarta from there.
Transport
You will travel with your own party in a full-air-conditioned van. There is no smoking in this.
Tour guide
There is no tour guide/guide available as standard. At your request, a Dutch-speaking guide can accompany you. However, this is optional. The driver is usually willing to tell you a thing or two during the ride. Please note that not all drivers speak Dutch or English well.
Particularities
All hotels have air conditioning in the room, except in those places where it is naturally cool such as Baturaden and the Bromo. These are located at an altitude where air conditioning is not necessary. All hotels have a swimming pool. We recommend booking as early as possible before the high season to avoid disappointment with overbooked hotels.
