Project 2025

Also this year we have purchased the e.e.a. for the school children and the bejaaardenhuis. This time it was mainly what the schoolchildren need during their holiday period, and for the elderly things for their daily care.

Unfortunately, we were only allowed to take 20 kg pp with the flight on this trip. Next time I’ll fly with an airline that allows more luggage. e.g. 30 kg or more pp.

Project 2024

In the spring we traveled to East Java, so we had not physically been to the retirement home in West Java, but we did offer other help in Madiun where our former school is located. We have received a lot of new clothes from men’s fashion HEITSE.

It was quite a challenge how to take all this with us, but we succeeded, divided into several suitcases, each with the maximum weight of 30 kg per suitcase…..! To be able to make a lot happy with new clothes.

Project 2023

This year I tried to pick up the thread again and offer help to the retirement home in Bandung together with friends from Heythuysen after our trip from Sumatra. It was another successful help to them with clothing and food packages.

Project 2022

After waiting almost 2 years, we were able to go again at the end of 2022 (October). It was nice to see them again, although we received a message that some had died due to Corona. We have once again given them the necessary. Coincidentally, it was a birthday and of course we celebrated. A happening for them. Nice to see how they enjoyed themselves.

We visited our school and saw that a lot has happened. For example, the fans, lamps and some benches/chairs are worn out. We bought new ones and also a television for them in the common room. Now they can watch fun programs. We continued with a good feeling.

Project 2021

Depending on what happens with COVID 19, we will adapt our help. If we cannot go ourselves, we will continue to support them through our office in Bandung. It happens differently, but the goal remains the same. That’s what applies!

Project 2020

Unfortunately, due to the Corona virus, we had to abort our trip in March prematurely, and we flew back to the Netherlands without having visited the retirement home and our school. Although we were only a 3 hour drive away from it. As soon as everything is safe again and we have the opportunity to leave, we will be the first to visit them. And then see what help they need now. These are also difficult times for them. No visitors or only allowed to receive them sparingly.

In the meantime, we will stay in touch with them so that we can still stay informed. In the meantime, we have arranged that the elderly are not forgotten at Christmas. We had the elderly delivered a Christmas package with food and snacks. with emphasis on “having it delivered” because of Covid 19.

Project for 2019

Continue our support to the retirement home and school children. The program will be discussed after our visit in March. At Christmas the retirement home again all gave a Christmas package and clothing.

Project for 2017 - 2018

Continue to give support to old people in an old people’s home in Bandung. Providing our disabled schoolchildren with new school materials. In the autumn of 2017 we renovated the kitchen and bathrooms of the retirement home. In the spring of 2018 we will continue to look at what else we can do and what else people need in the retirement home. At Christmas the retirement home all gave a Christmas package.

Intended project for 2010

For the year 2010 we want to do a new set-up by visiting other schools in the area and helping where necessary (where not actually).

Intended project for 2009

At the moment we are making an inventory of what they need now. Soon we will travel. Further actions will be announced in due course.

We are back, and have been able to mean a lot to them. For example, we have bought new items for their school as well as personal equipment such as clothing and footwear. But we also bought cooking utensils for the kitchen so that they can now cook more and the children no longer have to wait so long for food. The people in the neighborhood (who really have nothing) have not been forgotten even now. All in all, I made a lot of people happy.

Intended project for 2008

This year we want to continue the project and hope to be able to delight even more children with a hearing aid. We are also building a gym/badminton room at school, which is already ready and renewing/renovating the sleeping and toilet rooms. In October we visited the school and gave the children all new shoes/school bags/bath towels/tracksuits and school materials.

Project of 2007

In the new year 2007 we will focus especially on help for children who are deaf.

In the past year, we had these children undergo an examination in the hospital to see what their chances were if they were given a hearing aid. It turns out that this would help them very well. In total, it would involve 20 children. A lot of money is needed to provide them with a hearing aid. Total cost of this 6000 euros. We hope to receive this money with the help of donors and gifts and the proceeds of mediating our trips. We also try to help a boy with the costs of an eye operation that he can undergo, as it turns out that after examination, he has a good chance of regaining some eyesight. You can help us with your voluntary contribution.
